Tips Report

If you want to track the tips that you have received you can use the Tips report. This will include any tips that have been added to the order...

To track tips added to an order head to Reports > Sales > Tips.

Here you can filter by a certain revenue date to then see all the orders within that date range that have a tip amount linked to the order. Any orders that don't have a tip won't appear in this report...

Report totals summaries:

  • Orders: this is the total number of orders (that have a tip added) within the date range selected

  • Total tips: these are the total number of tips within the orders that appear within the date range. If there are multiple tips in the same order, this will be classed as multiple tips i.e. 1 order has 2 tips, 2 will be added to the "total tips" summary.

  • Total tip amount - all the tip amounts added together

The report shows:

  • Order date - the revenue date of the order

  • Order ref - you can select on the order ref to be taken directly to the order

  • Practitioners - if the item in the order has a practitioner assigned to it (appointment types and some sessions) then the practitioner name will appear here. If it is an offering that doesn't have a practitioner i.e. area booking, this will be blank

  • Order total - the total amount of the order

  • Tip amount (gross) - the total amount of tip (gross) for that item in the order

  • Tip amount (net) - the total amount of tip (net) for that item in the order

  • Payment methods - the payment method(s) used to pay for the order

"Add filter":

  • The default date range that appears on the report is "Revenue date" but if you want to filter by "Submitted date" too you can select "Add filter" > toggle on "Submitted date"

You can also export this report if needed by selecting the "Export" button.

Tip breakdown

To view the tip breakdown for the item listed in the report you can select the magnifying glass icon at the end of the row...

This will then show you the item...

Please note the magnifying glass is only available for items that have a practitioner assigned i.e. appointments and session types (if a practitioner is linked to the session). For area bookings and retail products the magnifying glass won't be displayed.

How are the items (added outside of packages) within an order split out in the tips report?

Tips can be added to the order at order or item level, view the guide here for more details.

Therefore, if a tip is added at order level, and all items have been added individually (rather than within a package) it will list out all items in the order that has a practitioner linked to it (i.e all appointments, some sessions) and then split the tips evenly across all the practitioners in the order.

If tip amount is added to an individual item (not booked within a package) then this exact amount will be allocated to the item.

How are the tips split across the practitioners when a package is booked?

If you book a package and the package includes items that link to a practitioner i.e. appointment/ session then when a tip is applied to the order, it will split the tip amount based on the package allocations set up in the package settings for each choice. See example below, package is in the order and a £10 tip has been added...

In the tip report, you can then see it splits the tip between the practitioners however, rather than doing this evenly it is based on the revenue allocations...

If terms the "revenue allocations" we are referring to the revenue allocations set up in the package choice "more options" settings, each package choice has the ability for a revenue allocations amount to be set as shown below...
