Wearable bands & payments

Set up and manage wearable wristbands that allow guests to make purchases and pass through Gantner access gates throughout their visit.

Wearable bands let your guests link a payment card to a physical wristband, so they can make purchases throughout their visit, such as F&B, spa retail, or treatments, simply by tapping at a payment terminal. If your site uses Gantner access gates, wristbands can also be used to grant and track guest access.

You will need to outsource the Wristbands. We do not supply wristbands.

Compatible terminals: Wearable payments are currently supported on Castle S1F2 and AMSL1 terminals only. Verifone terminals are not yet supported. If you're unsure which terminal you have, please contact support.

Enabling wearable payments

To turn on wearable payments for your site, head to Settings > Trybe Pay > Wristband Payments and toggle on 'Enable wristband payments'.

Enabling terminal-initiated payments

This will allow you to take payment initiated directly from the terminal. This is especially useful if you would like to take F&B payment through Trybe.

You will first need to ensure that your Trybe terminal is compatible. Currently only Castle S1F2 or AMSL1 will support this.

For the terminal initiated payment to work, you will need to create a retail product in your Trybe settings called ‘F&B’ or ‘Retail payment’ for example and set it to £0.

Once the retail product is created, go back to your Settings > Trybe Pay > Wristband Payments to link this retail product:

If a terminal-initiated payment failed, the order will show as cancelled in Trybe.

Before enabling terminal-initiated payments, please contact Support or your onboarder. A few preliminary steps are required before this option can be activated on your terminal.

Associating a wristband with a guest

Wristbands are linked through the guest's order, not directly from their profile. Here's how to do it:

> Open the order in Trybe

> Convert the guest to a client if they aren't already (Guests > click on the 3 dots next to the name > Select convert to client)

Select 'Start Check In'

Step 1 - Enter the clients name. You will be given the option to create a new client profile or select from any existing profiles that start matching the name

Step 2 - At this stage, the system will inform you if the guest's intake form has been completed or not:

Step 3 & 4 - The wristband and payment method can now be linked to the order. If you have several Trybe terminals, please choose the one you want to use to associate.

Guests can also associate their wristband at the Trybe Kiosk during check-in, if you have one.

Taking payment via wristband

Once a wristband is associated, the guest simply taps it at any compatible terminal to charge their linked payment card automatically.

We recommend having a staff member nearby when guests make wristband payments, to assist if anything goes wrong. Common failure reasons include:

  • Card cancelled, frozen, or insufficient funds

  • Guest accidentally pressing ✕ to cancel on the terminal screen

Tips on exit via Gantner gate

Your wearables can also be used by the guest to leave a tip at the Gantner exit gate if this is an option you have enabled. Please follow this link to learn more: Service charge and tips.

Wristband expiry and disassociation

When associating a wristband through the order check-in flow, wristbands will automatically be allocated with an expiry date (same day, before 00am).

You can also set a manual expiry date and time on any wristband from the clients profile > Settings > Manage passes once it expires, it will be cleared automatically.

If no manual expiry is set, the wristband will be cleared automatically when the guest passes through a Gantner exit gate (GTR7 device) at the end of their visit (even if this is before a manual expiry date you may have set).

You can also disassociate a wristband through the wearable and passes report.

Finding a lost wristband

To find a lost wristband and identify its owner it is simple !

You can find out by tapping on the wristband on your Trybe terminal.

But first, click on the “+” at the top of your screen and select New identity request:

Select the terminal you want to use:

Tap the wristband on the terminal. A new identity search will start:

Once the system found the guest it will display it’s identity:
