What is Reserve with Google?

Reserve with Google is a feature of Google Maps and Google Search that allows businesses to offer various services directly as part of their listing.

Trybe uses the "Appointment Redirect" version of this integration, meaning users are redirected from a Google business listing to their Trybe shopfront, either to the listings, or to a specific offering.

Site eligibility

Google is very specific and has tight regulations on what businesses can use this integration and which services can be displayed.

For a site to be eligible to use the integration, they must:

  • Have a registered Google Business Profile, with business name, address, phone number, and website listed on Google Maps, and be one of the supported merchant types

  • Have at least one listed offering that is available to book through the shopfront

  • Belong to only a single vertical. Some sites are part of multiple verticals, for example if they are attached to a hotel. This integration cannot be used against the Google Business listing for the hotel, it must be linked to the listing for the spa itself. If the site does not have a specific business listing for this vertical, they should create one before enabling this integration

Offering eligibility

Most offerings in Trybe will be sent to Google, but there are some exceptions:

  • Only listed offerings will be sent. If an offering is marked as link only or private, it will not be included.

  • Packages are not currenly available with our Reserve with Google integration

Enabling the integration

Log into the site and navigate to Settings > Integrations > Reserve with Google.

If your site does not yet have a trading address associated with it, you will be prompted to enter it first.

This trading address for the site in Trybe MUST match the business address in Google Maps.

Once the address has been saved, you can enable the integration. From now on, all the eligible offerings will be sent to Google in the daily feed. It might take 2 days before Google matches the site to a Google Maps listing. New offerings and updates to offerings will be included in the next daily feed.

The date and time of the last feed sync will be shown on this page.

ℹ️ If you've enabled the integration and after several days you are not seeing services against the business listing, it is possible that Google was not able to match the provided address with the listing in Google Maps. If this happens, please contact Tech Support or the Tech team as they can check this status.

Compatibility with Google Tag Manager and Analytics

Due to Reserve with Google platform policies around what information must be shown on the landing page, this integration is incompatible with Google Tag Manager.

Frequently Asked Questions

What do I do if a site is part of a hotel?

The hotel and the spa must be separate verticals. This means that they need a separate Google Business listing for each, and the integration must be linked to the spa, not the hotel.

What do I do if a site is part of a chain of spas?

If a site is part of a chain, this integration should be enabled on a site by site basis. Make sure each site is linked to its real physical address, not head office of the chain. This also means that you can enable the integration for all or just one of the sites, whichever you like.

My listings are not appearing

Google can take some time to process new data in the feeds. If you've only just created a new offering, or updated an existing one, those changes will only be included in the next daily feed.

If you've just enabled the integration, please allow up to 2 sets of feeds (2 full days) to be sent to Google first and then check again. If after several days and still nothing is appearing it is possible that the address entered was not matched to a Google Business listing. In this case please contact Tech Support or the Tech team to investigate.

Which bookings are coming from Google?

Visitors that are redirected from a Google Maps or Google Search listing have a token attached to their session and any booking that they then make. This allows us to report conversions back to Google, which is one of their policy requirements. Within Trybe they will have the sales channel of 'Website' like all of the other online bookings.
