The Trybe Kiosk lets your guests check in, make new bookings and pay independently, all from a self-service screen. This guide walks you through how to configure it in Trybe.
Firstly, if you haven't yet ordered and received your Kiosks, please contact your Onboarding Specialist or Support team, to guide you through the ordering, payment and delivery process.
Once you have received your Kiosks, to power on the device, press and hold the power button located on the right side of the screen.
Most of the hardware should already be pre-configured. If that isn't the case, please contact Support.
If the WIFI hasn't been configured yet, please, follow these steps:
Power on the Kiosk
Open the Fully Kiosk Browser app by tapping its tile on the screen
After the app launches, swipe gently from the left side of the screen to access the menu
Navigate to Settings
Select Device Management
Scroll down to Wi-Fi Settings
Select your network, and enter the credentials
The kiosk will be delivered with two plugs:
one to power up the kiosk
one for the card terminal attached to the kiosk itself
If you do not receive both plugs, please contact Support.
Linking your terminal to your kiosk
Once your terminal is powered on, head to your 'Trybe pay' integration section, click on 'refresh' and select your terminal. Confirm the serial number and head to the kiosk settings (steps below), edit the relevant kiosk and assign it to the terminal.
Settings in Trybe
To access your kiosk settings head to Settings > Manage integration > Trybe Kiosk.
Configuration
Kiosk
In this configuration section, you can rename the kiosk devices, but serial and terminal IDs are unchangeable and internally managed.
Check-in times
You are able to set time limits for customer check-ins before and after their treatment
If the override option is not selected, the rule applies to all offerings.
You can create several rules for different treatments.
Branding
You can set either a video or an image as the kiosk’s splash screen. However, due to the 1 MB limit on image uploads, any images or videos must currently be hosted on your own servers.
Additionally, you have the option to customize the kiosk’s appearance by selecting an accent color and an accent text color, which control the look of buttons and text on the screen. You can also customize the edges of your buttons and other elements on the kiosk interface.
Instructions
The kiosk allows you to add instructions directly into the check-in flow. Instructions are fully customizable in Trybe, using content blocks that can be tailored to specific basket items, similar to how email templates work.
You can assign different instructions to different offerings and reorder them as needed, making it easy to prioritize certain instructions for offerings that may be linked to multiple instruction templates.
Those instructions will then show as the last step of the guest's check-in:
Additional settings available:
QR codes
A QR code scanning functionality will have to be switched on. You can enable it through email templates in your Trybe settings. This will allow customers to quickly access their order details on the kiosk.
For the QR code functionality, you would need to have ordered the QR Code scanner as part of your Kiosk order. Please check with the support team if unsure or wanting to order this.
To get to this section, head to Settings > Marketing & Comms > Email Templates
Some orders may have been made before enabling the QR code. If that is the case, a few options are available:
The guest can use the lead booker last name and the order number instead at the kiosk
You can manually re-send the confirmation
If you have enabled the reminder email, the guest will find their QR code on that email too.
Wristband payments
If you authorise payments through your wristbands, you will need to enable it in your Trybe pay settings.
To find out more about wristbands and payments, please see the Wearable Bands & Payments guide.
We do not supply Wristbands. These will need to be ordered separately.
