Yes, you can pause a membership by following the steps below, we also give you the ability to automatically resume a membership at a date of your choosing.

What do I need before I start?

A membership type set up with a £0 rate and £0 joining fee. You can build this in different ways, for instance some may choose to have different kinds of memberships for different reasons of pausing. Or you can enter one membership type as pause and elaborate on the reason for the pause via the clients notes / client labels.

How do I pause the membership?

Go to the client profile > select their current active membership they wish to pause > select the three dots > select edit > within the pop up select the chosen end date ( the date in which you or the guest wish to pause the membership ) > save changes. The next billing date should then update to N/A as you will not want this membership to be charged again.

Now to add in the pause membership select +New > pick membership type (pause / suspension ) > select £0 rate > select the start date of the suspension and the end date. If you do not know the end date of the suspension you can keep this end date blank > create membership.

What you will see now in their memberships tab is their previous membership coming to an end or already ended, above this will be the now “active” pause / suspension indicating that this membership is now paused.

How do I automatically continue their membership after the pause period?

Now that you have set up the pause / suspension on someone's membership you can set up their profile so that it automatically starts again at a date of your choosing.

This is achieved by editing the suspension / paused membership > select the three dots > select edit > edit the end date to the day before you wish the membership to resume > save changes.

To automatically continue the membership and the payments you would select +New on the memberships tab on their profile > pick your membership type and rate > Once these are selected you will have a new section to complete called “linked payment method” here you can add their direct debit from the previous membership so that the new membership can continue being debited > select the start date you wish the membership to resume and any end date if applicable > create membership.

You have now resumed their membership which will automatically be billed.

Important to note - In order to have the linked payment method section come up the membership rate should have auto payments toggled on, any manual payments membership rates will not allow you to link a previous Direct Debit.
