Trybe is a cloud-based system which technically can be operated from any device that has access to the internet.

Here is a guide on the minimum system requirements we’d recommend to ensure Trybe is running at it’s best.

Laptops & Desktop Computers

We’d always recommend a laptop as your primary device, particularly for reception teams.

● Screen Resolution - This should be a minimum of 1280x800
● Operating systems -

> For Apple devices, it should be running macOS Catalina 10.15 or above.

> For Windows, it should be running at least Windows 8 and have at least 4GB RAM

Tablets

Tablets can be a very useful tool for Therapists to view their appointments for the day.

We support any Apple iPad running iOS 15 or above. See the table for a list of Apple devices that support iOS 15.

Should you wish to use alternative devices such as Android tablets, please try before you buy.

Browsers

We officially support all evergreen browsers. Evergreen browsers are browsers that will automatically update themselves to the latest version. This is the case for all modern browsers such as Chrome, Firefox, Safari and Edge.

We do not support IE 11.

WIFI Speed & Connecting to the Internet

A stable internet connection with a recommended minimum download speed of 5mbps

Please ensure your WIFI speed is as fast as possible and above our recommended minimum. If you have other devices such as Tills, PDQs and customers using the WIFI, these could affect the download speed, therefore you may want to consider plugging the device directly into the Internet router using an Ethernet cable.

You can check your download speed here.

Hardware (Scanners, Magnetic Stripe readers, Printers)

Scanners
If you have a scanner to connect to Trybe to be able to take product sales and/or use for Members to sign in and out of the gym, you can use any barcode scanner but we recommend a 2D optical scanner with a USB connection. All barcodes given to products will need to be 5+ characters long.

We support any scanner device (including RFID) as long as it supports USB keyboard emulation and if using RFID readers, that the reader is compatible with the card/bracelets you have. For example if the bracelets are, ISO/IEC 14443, they will need to ensure the reader is capable of reading that type of card.

Magnetic Stripe Readers

You can also use any Magnetic stripe reader as long as it can connect to the device Trybe runs on and support keyboard emulation. You can find a variety of compatible 2D Optical scanners on Amazon and other online shops - https://www.amazon.co.uk/2D-Barcode-Scanner/s?k=2D+Barcode+Scanner

Printers

We recommend Epson TM-T20III and TM-T88V as we have tested with these models.

We should be compatible with any ESC/POS printer that are USB connected and supported by Windows, but advise testing with your IT team. In terms of connecting the printer to Trybe, you'll need to be running Trybe on Windows or MacOS. Here is a guide on how to connect your Printer to Trybe.

For best results, we recommend the application is installed on a server. The software doesn't need to run on the same PC where Trybe is being used - as long as it's installed on a computer that is connected to the internet and connected to the printer, users can print to the receipt printer from any other computer.

We also support networked printers, if your receipt printer has a network interface.
