Want to be able to print receipts to hand straight to your customers? Well, you can do just that by connecting your receipt printer to Trybe!

We recommend using one of the following devices:

  • Epson TM-T20III

  • Epson TM-T88V

There are a few steps to follow to initially set up your printer which will be outlined in this guide.

Firstly, head to Settings > Manage integrations > Receipt printing

Logo

Here you will be able to upload the logo that you want to appear on the top of the receipt. Once you have uploaded the file, remember to press 'Save logo' to save changes.

If no logo is uploaded, your site name will be displayed at the top of the receipt instead.

There isn't a set aspect ratio requirement for the logo as this will be limited by the printer itself. The best practice is upload a small version of the logo and test it out. If it cuts off, make the image smaller and upload again. Repeat until it is successful.

Printers

Here you will be able to configure the printers that are connected to your site. To do this select 'Add printer', here you can enter in the printer name and select the paper size (either 58mm or 80mm).

Once you have entered the name and paper size, select 'Create printer'.

You will be able to edit the name or paper size later on if needed by selecting the three dots > Edit.

Once you have added your printer, you will receive an email containing a setup file containing further instructions.

For best results, we recommend the application is installed on a server. The software doesn't need to run on the same PC where Trybe is being used - as long as it's installed on a computer that is connected to the internet and connected to the printer, users can print to the receipt printer from any other computer.

We also support networked printers, if your receipt printer has a network interface.

'Configuration for your Trybe/EscPos connector' Email

Once you have added a printer to the Manage Integrations section, you will then receive an email so you can continue setting up the printer.

The email 'Configuration for your Trybe/EscPos connector' will be sent to the user's email address that added the printer to the Manage Integrations page.

From here onwards, these instructions are advanced and may require administrator access. We recommend this email is forwarded to your IT team so they can carry out the rest of the setup.

On the email you will be instructed to press the 'Download Trybe/EscPos Connector' button, this will bring you to a page where you can 'Download' the application for the platform you use i.e Windows or Mac. The file will be called Trybe/EscPos connector.

The software will need to be downloaded onto the computer/laptop that has the receipt printer connected to it.

The email will also contain an attachment - download this file as it'll be required in the next step.

This email can be forwarded to your IT team so they can continue setting up the printer for you. If you're sending this onto someone else, remember to include the attachment.

Trybe/EscPos connector app

The application will need to be configured to connect to your Trybe account, and also to the receipt printer.

Connecting to Trybe

Click "Upload trybe-printer.json file" and select the trybe-printer.json file that you downloaded from the email attachment.

Once uploaded, the Trybe Connectivity section will show as Connected.

Connecting to printer

Trybe supports connecting over USB or Network.
