If you add a monetary voucher to an order to purchase it and don't set the correct "Voucher amount", if you then change the price of the voucher in the order, it won't update the value of the voucher it will only change the price.
The voucher value is different from the voucher price.
When adding a voucher to the order, if the site has a flexible amount voucher, you will need to make sure to update the voucher amount you want:
Otherwise, if you don’t change the voucher amount once the voucher is added to the order, but then change the price of the voucher, the voucher value won’t be updated. For example you can see the value of the voucher is £1 and then the user is selecting the three dots > change price...
The price is set to £100, this does update the price as you can see here...
However, when you head to the voucher code page, you'll see the value of the voucher remains at £1, because changing the price doesn't change the value of the voucher...
Therefore, the voucher has a value of £1 but the customer has paid £100 for this.
💡Tip > You will be able to see if the site has manually changed the voucher price by heading to the Audit tab on the order. There, you will see an audit entry saying 'Set the price of…' as shown in the example below...
How to rectify this and have the voucher display the value the client has paid?
If the order has already been checked out, simply click on the three dots next to the voucher > Remove item.
Then, go to the Payments tab. A Transfer to voucher option will appear, allowing the site to select the desired voucher.
This will add a new voucher in the order with the correct amount.
Please note that the voucher code will change, as the previous voucher will be revoked once it is removed from the order. Creating the new voucher will therefore generate a new voucher code.
