When you are creating your membership credits, there is a section for "Credit issuing".
To access this head to settings > membership types > select on the membership > scroll to the credits section > select on an existing credit or create a new one > scroll to "credit issuing" section...
If you want the customer to be able to use this credit an unlimited number of times until it expires you can toggle on "Multi-use".
If you toggle on "Multi-use", you then have further options that you can opt in for if you want to set further limitations.
Multi-use (yes or no) - select whether or not this recurring credit is multi-use, can it be used an unlimited amount of time until it expires? If you toggle on "Multi-use" then an additional section will appear...
Maximum uses - Here you can enter in the maximum number of times a customer can redeem this credit within the usage period. Leave empty for unlimited uses. If you do enter in an amount then an additional section will appear where you can set the usage period...
Usage period - Here you can set the time period in which the maximum uses limit applies. You can choose from daily, weekly, monthly or yearly. For example, if you set the "Maximum uses" to "2" and the "Usage period" to "Daily", this would mean that this credit can be used a maximum of 2 times per day. The restriction is based on the date of the booking, not the date the booking is made. So once the credit is used on 2 valid items for a booking on a particular date it won't be able to be used for another item booked for that same date but would be able to be used on items booked for other dates.
Please note: If you set a "Maximum uses" and "Usage period" for the "Multi-use" credit, these details will not be displayed on the credit itself so we would recommend entering this information in the "Description" field of the credit so that the customer will be able to see this information on their account section when logged in on the shop front.
How this works booking internally?
When booking internally, if you select an offering to add to the order that would be valid for the multi-use credit and a maximum uses is set, then when you select on the date, it will let you know the allocation left for this date, week, month or year (depending on the usage period of the credit). See below, this is a multi-use credit with max uses of 3 daily set. It let's you know 2 of 3 daily credits have been used for that date...
Once you hit the limit for the usage period (i.e. daily in this case), it informs you of this. For example, here it states 3/3 daily credits have been used...
Therefore, this signifies that if you book this item on this date, the auto applied multi-use credit won't be applied to this item as the limit has been reached.
How this works booking on the shop front?
When your customer is booking on the shop front, if they select an offering to add to the order that would be valid for the multi-use credit and a maximum uses is set, then when they are on the check out page, it will let them know the allocation left for this date, week, month or year (depending on the usage period of the credit). See below, this is a multi-use credit with max uses of 3 weekly set. It let's you know 1 of 3 weekly credits have been used for that week...
Once the limit is hit for the usage period (i.e. weekly in this case), it informs you of this. For example, here it states for Week of 13th May 3/3 have been used...
