How can I make a choice within a package optional?
To make a choice or choices within a package optional head to Settings > Packages.
If you are making a new package press ‘Add new package type’, but if you are amending an existing package press ‘Edit’. Then press 'Package Choices'.
Go to the choice you want to make optional and find the ‘Optional’ button. Toggle this on to make the choice optional. This will mean that when customers book this package, this choice within the package will not be mandatory. Each customer can choose whether to opt in or out of this choice.
You can turn on or off as many choices as you want.
Remember to press ‘Save’ on the choice settings to save changes.
Booking an optional choice on the shop front
What will a customer see when making a booking for an optional choice on the shop front?
When a customer chooses to book a package that has an optional choice it will look similar to this on your shop front...
Next to the choice it will state 'Optional', informing the customer that this is not a compulsory part of the package.
The customer can select 'No thanks' to opt out and will be brought to the next choice. Or the customer can choose the option and opt in and proceed to booking the time slot for this choice, then the remaining choices.
Any options in the package that have been set up for an increased price/price change will shown during the process.
Booking an optional choice on the system
What will an optional choice look like when making a booking on the system?
When taking a booking on the system the optional choice will appear like this;
The choice name and 'Optional'. You can then ask the customer their preference and either select the option or select 'No thanks' depending on whether they are opting in or out of the choice. Then proceed with the other choices.
Any options in the package that have been set up for an increased price/price change will shown during the process, so you can quote this to the client in real time
How can I use the optional choice to upsell treatments?
You can use this 'optional choice' feature to upsell other treatments that are not part of the package.
To do this go to Settings > Packages > edit > Package choices > Add new package choice.
Now you can create an upsell choice by naming the choice something similar to 'Fancy an extra treatment?'. Then you can toggle ON the 'optional' button so it is the customer who chooses whether to opt in or out. Select the offering type you want this choice to include, for example appointments. Under appointment types select the appointments you want as options by selecting from the drop down menu.
Each option will have a 'Edit Price change' option if you select the three dots. Here you will be able to enter the price so that the customer will be charged for this extra treatment. You can also remove choices by selecting three dots > remove.
When complete press 'Save' at the bottom of the choice to save changes.
If they opt in for the extra treatment choice they will be charged the price of the package in addition to the price of the specific treatment they have selected. If no price is entered and the customer opts in for this choice they will get the extra treatment for free.
On the shop front it will show up similar to the below...
Customers can press 'No thanks' or they can choose a treatment. On each treatment you can see how much extra it will cost before paying because it will show '+ £____' next to the option. When selected the price of the selected treatment adds to the price of the overall package.
