Do you offer joint / family memberships where all payments are taken care of by a lead member? If so, you can use the 'Multi-person' function to create these memberships!
To make a membership 'Multi-person' you can head to Settings > Membership types > Add new type/ edit an existing type > scroll down to the 'Multi-person membership' section. (Please view the Membership types guide for any further info on creating membership types!)
In this section you will be able to choose from the following options:
Single person only - This is the default setting for single memberships. If this remains selected then when a single person membership is added to a client profile you will not be able to added any additional members.
Couples only - This will be a membership for up to 2 people. If this is selected then when a couples only membership is added to a client profile you will be able to add 1 additional member.
Custom - This can be used for memberships for more than 2 people i.e. a family or group membership.
You will then be able to enter in the 'Max members' for this membership i.e. if you enter in 5 here then when this membership is added to a client profile you will be able to add a max of 4 additional members.
When you have chosen whether you want the membership to be single, couples or custom you will have to select 'Save multi-person membership' to save the changes.
Membership Rates > the Rate Prices should be the full price of the membership in Total. Trybe WILL only charge the Lead Member for the full price of the membership. All other linked members WILL NOT be charged. If the price of the membership varies depending on the amount of members, you'll need to create separate Rates, for example:
1 x Member £50
2 x Members £100
3 x Members £150
Managing multi-person memberships
If you add a multi-person membership (couples only or custom) to a client profile, you should add it to the lead members profile by heading to the client profile and selecting "+ New" in the Membership section. Here you can select the type, rate, start date and end date > create.
Once the multi-person membership is on the lead members profile, it will state they are the "Lead member". You will be able to view additional members by selecting the "view members" option or by selecting the three dots > manage members...
From here you can then add the additional members by selecting "add member". For "couples only" memberships you can only add one additional member, for "custom" multi-person membership you can add up to the max members you've set up in your settings...
Once you select "add member" this will then open up a pop up where you can search for the additional member(s) to link to this membership (this will search through all the clients set up on your system)...
Once you select on the client, they are then added to the membership and the membership will appear on their profile too and show the name of the lead member as who the membership is "shared with"...
At any time if you want to view/ remove additional members, you can head to the membership on the lead member's profile > select on the three dots > manage members > you will then see the additional members listed and you can then select the three dots on the additional member(s) to remove them from the membership or head to their client profile...
Please note: Any request for mandates or recording of payments etc are all actioned on the lead members profile rather than the additional members. However, once you action something on the lead members profile i.e. record the payment this will then update on the additional members profiles too as it is a shared membership so when the lead members one is updated it will be reflected on the additional members profiles too.
Signing up for a multi-person membership online
If your customers are signing up for a multi-person membership online, it will be the exact same process as any singular membership. Please view guide here.
Online the lead member will not be able to select the additional members when signing up so if someone signs up for a multi-person membership online, a user will then have to go to the lead member's profile to add the additional members to the membership as highlighted in the "Managing multi-person memberships" section above.
We would suggest possibly adding this information to your multi-person membership description, so when a lead member is signing up to a multi-person membership they know that once signed up they will need to contact the site to then add the additional members to their membership.
