When a customer has purchased a voucher and the gift voucher email has been sent to the Recipient, they will be able to redeem it using the code provided!
As you can see from the screenshot the voucher will display the image that you have uploaded for this Voucher type and also the text you entered in the 'Message to recipient' section of the Voucher settings. The email will provide a unique code that can be used to spend the money on the voucher/ receive a free item. If a 'Monetary amount' Voucher type it will also display the amount on the gift voucher.
There is also a button in the email stating 'Use your voucher' if selected this will take the recipient directly to the shop front where they can look up the voucher to check the balance (if a 'Monetary amount' voucher type) or to check which items the voucher applies to (if a 'Free item' Voucher type)
How to redeem a voucher on the shop
To redeem a Voucher on the shop you can select the 'Use your voucher' button sent in the email or the customer can go onto your website and select the 'Have a voucher?' tab.
Here you can look up the voucher by entering the code into the Voucher code box > Look up. This will then display the name of the voucher.
If you look up a 'Monetary amount' voucher type it will show the balance of the voucher (Image 1)
If you look up a 'Free item' voucher type it will list the items that the voucher can be used on with a 'Select' button next to each item. (Image 2) If you choose 'Select' it will lead you to the page to book for this specific item, then when you go to the check out the voucher will automatically be applied.
If the voucher is not automatically applied to the order then you can add a voucher to your basket. To do this select 'Apply a voucher' > enter the code > Apply. This will then apply the voucher to the order if applicable. You can also remove the voucher from the order once applied by selecting the 'Remove' button.
If you try to apply a voucher that has already been redeemed this message will appear 'This voucher has already been used'.
How to redeem a Voucher in Trybe?
To redeem a Voucher as a user in Trybe, head to the Payments tab of the order > + Add payment > select the 'Gift voucher' option.
Enter the code > Search >
If it is a valid voucher code the voucher will appear > Redeem. (If it is a 'Monetary amount' voucher type then an option for 'Amount to redeem' will appear, where you can enter in the amount you want to take from the voucher.
If the voucher is applicable and can be redeemed the voucher will be applied.
If it is not applicable when you select 'Redeem' an error message will appear stating 'This voucher cannot be used for any items currently in the basket.'
If the items in the order are applicable for the voucher then it will state that the voucher has been successfully applied to the order.
If you try to apply a voucher that has already been redeemed this message will appear 'This voucher has already been used'.
How to see that an order has been paid for with a voucher
If you head to an order (made via Trybe or the shop front) > Payments tab.
Here you will be able to see if a voucher has been used to pay for the order. It will state the voucher amount, the name and also the code.
To refund the voucher payment you can select the three dots > refund.
