With Trybe Pay you can:

  • Set up recurring card payments for Memberships (instead of using Direct Debits)

  • Allow customers to save their card to their profile to allow for quicker payments when placing bookings

  • Integrate to Card terminals for easier in person payments through Trybe.

Below some guides to take you through these tools.

Card on file

When requesting payments using the Pay by Link, this automatically provides you with good protection against disputes as the email is sent to the customers to input their card details personally (with no third party entry).

When you send the Pay by Link you will now have the option to 'Store Card Details' - the customer will need to then make the payment manually this time but then their card details will be stored for future payments. This will mean that next time they make an Order online or in the Spa, they can choose from a stored Card to be charged so they don't have to enter their card details each time.

See the video for an overview of the Pay by Link and Card on File payment options.

Recurring card payments

Traditionally you may have managed your Membership payments via Direct Debit.

However with Trybe Pay, instead of requiring your member to sign a Direct Debit mandate they will be able to set up a card to be charged as per your Membership rates (i.e. monthly, quarterly, yearly etc). This is a similar process to a subscription payment where the customer will be asked to provide card details to be charged on a regular basis. No mandates, easy peasy!

As per the screenshots, you'll be able to send a 'Payment Method Request' to the Member. Once they receive the email they will have a button to 'Set up Payments' and will be brought to the online Payment Method form. This will then store the card details on the Members profile which Trybe will charge the Monthly/Yearly payments from.

Payout fees & dates

With Trybe Pay we use an Interchange++ pricing model

Now, you may be wondering what interchange++ is…
There are three distinct cost components when an acquirer processes a card transaction:

  • The Interchange fee, which is paid to the card issuing bank (i.e. Monzo, Starling, Santander)

  • The scheme fee, which is paid to Visa or Mastercard and is represented by the first "+". Here is a guide explaining the interchange fees further and how they are calculated by merchants in different countries - see link.

  • The acquirer fee, which is represented by the second "+" and is charged by the acquirer (See link). For a given transaction the acquiring fee is a fixed markup of 1% plus 20p.

  • Card authentications are charged at 10p per card authorisation.

How and when will I get paid out if I use Trybe Pay?
Your money arrives 14 days (excluding bank holidays) after each transaction date. These are the terms set by our payment provider.

Completed payments and refunds are added into subsequent Payouts which are processed 14 days in advance. Payouts are generated daily and all transaction fees are subtracted from the Payout amount.

You'll find a record of all Payouts in your Reports section > Finance > Payouts (See screenshots). After the initial 14 days to receive the first Payout, each sequential Payout will be daily.
